Michael Foulds

Michael is a passionate and dedicated litigation lawyer who has worked in the insurance field since 2004.

He maintains a broad insurance practice, involving both defence work and insurance coverage disputes. He also pursues subrogated claims for his clients. 

Michael takes a practical, common sense approach to his cases, with an emphasis on providing client-focused cost-efficient solutions.  He fully understands the need to work collaboratively but is known to be a fierce advocate when needed.   He has demonstrated success in bringing difficult and complex cases to resolution.   

Michael’s defence practice includes the following areas:

-   Professional Liability (engineers, architects, construction professionals, lawyers, and other professionals);

Michael has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal, and has trial, appellate, and private arbitration experience.

As one of two editors-in-chief to the annual edition of Watson & McGowan, Ontario Civil Practice, Michael has in depth knowledge of the Rules of Civil of Procedure, which he applies to the advantage of his clients.

Outside of law, Michael is active in sports, including squash, golf, swimming, cycling and running.   He is a proud father and is highly engaged in supporting his community.  He is often seen at local hockey rinks in support of his daughter, or at Variety Village playing with and supporting his son. For the last number of years he has served as a member of the March of Dimes Business Development Committee.
